Perhaps you could help me out with the following:I have a late 2011 Mac Air which along the years was gradually updated to OS High Sierra (through automatic software updates). However because it was getting slow and cluttered, I decide to do a factory reset. This finally worked through the inter recovery option although the recovery partition is present. In this process of reformatting the SSD HD, it called my attention that the option to use the APFS file format disappeared, only leaving the Journalled one.
